Your journal is yours. Everything you write stays on your device by default. Cloud sync operates via iCloud for all users. DaySnip+ subscribers receive weekly AI-compiled journal wraps processed through a secure cloud service each Sunday. We do not sell your content, share it with advertisers, or use your entries for AI model training.
DaySnip is developed by moonshinerXwerks LLC. The app functions on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Support inquiries go to info@daysnip.app.
Journal entries — voice notes, text, reflections, mood tags, and compiled summaries — are stored locally on your device by default using Apple's SwiftData framework.
Audio processing may occur on-device or through Apple's servers per their privacy terms. We do not independently transmit, store, or access audio recordings.
Reminders and prompts are generated entirely on your device and do not involve any data transmission. Users manage these through device Settings.
No name, email, account credentials, advertising identifiers (IDFA), location data, or contact information. Apple collects crash reports in anonymized, aggregate form through App Store Connect; no third-party analytics SDKs are integrated.
Journal content remains locally stored. No internet connection is required for basic app functionality. Uninstalling the app deletes local data.
Available to all users when signed into iCloud. Data resides in the user's personal iCloud account, encrypted by Apple in transit and at rest. We cannot read your synced journal content. Users may disable sync or delete iCloud data anytime through device settings.
Subscribers receive weekly compilations each Sunday at 11:59 PM. Content travels over encrypted TLS connections, is used only for compilation, and is not retained, logged, or used to train any AI model. This feature is automatic for active subscribers.
Weekly AI summaries help users prepare for therapy sessions using the same processing pipeline described in Section 3. Summaries are stored locally. Sharing occurs through Apple's Share Sheet without company involvement. Journal content processed for Therapy Prep summaries is never retained by us or used to train AI models.
Important: This feature is not a medical device, not a clinical tool, and is not a substitute for professional mental health care. AI summaries may contain inaccuracies or omissions.
We use collected information solely to:
Information is not used for advertising, behavioral profiling, or other purposes.
Personal information is not sold. Journal content is not shared with third parties except in these limited cases:
No account deletion process exists because no account is required. Uninstalling removes local data; disabling sync removes synced data.
DaySnip is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Given the lack of account creation and local-default storage, minimal personal information is involved regardless of age.
All data transmission uses TLS encryption. CloudKit data is encrypted by Apple. Journal content is not stored on company servers. Subscription verification uses Apple's StoreKit infrastructure.
No transmission or storage method is completely secure. Users are encouraged to protect devices with passcodes and biometric authentication.
You maintain full control:
Users in the EEA, UK, or California may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA. Most rights are exercised directly through your device. Questions go to info@daysnip.app.
DaySnip integrates with Apple services governed by Apple's privacy policies:
No integrations exist with third-party advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or social platforms.
Updates may occur. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects changes. Material changes trigger in-app notifications. Continued use indicates acceptance of updates.
